The Montreal Public Markets are a group of five locally powered markets, spread all across the city. Their goal is to connect the rural and urban together as the majority of the vendors are family run businesses who bring their fresh goods to the people in the city who don’t have direct access to them.
Sure, to some the markets are just another place to do groceries. But to most, they’re emblems of the city of Montreal and the packaging should align with that. Inspired by the local goods which put the Montreal Public Markets in a category of their own, d’ici is a line of essential oils, scented with home grown products.
Traditionally, essential oils are a premium product marketed in a sleek and simple manner. This project takes a fresh approach, all while staying true to the premium nature of the product and capturing the essence of both the target market and the city itself. This is achieved through the use of bold typography and a unique colour palette where each hue evokes a specific scent.
